FAQ's
Where do I send my quilt?
Please send your quilt tops and backing to:
Hickory House Quilting
C/O Marla West
4525 Herron Road
Chandlersville, Ohio 43727
How big does my backing, batting and binding need to be?
Please make sure batting and backing are larger than your quilt top by 4' on all sides. For example if your quilt top is 70"x80" please ensure that your backing and batting are at least 78"x88". Also, please make sure your binding is long enough to go around the whole outside of your quilt with at least 18" extra.
Does the customer pay the return shipping?
Yes. I ship with USPS to return your beautiful quilt to you. Shipping will be added to the final invoice.
Is the thread included?
Thread cost is $2.00 per bobbin. I use Glide #40 thread by Fil-Tec. The results are high quality, with consistent stitch formation, less thread breaks and fewer machine stops. You can choose your favorite color or allow me to pick what I think will look stunning.
Do you offer batting options?
I do not offer batting options at this time.
How does the trimming and binding work?
If you would like for me to trim and bind your quilt, please include binding fabric with your quilt top and backing fabric. Please make sure that each are clearly labeled. Binding should be 2 1/2" wide. Please measure it to make sure you have enough for the whole quilt.
Trim Quilt only / $15.00 I can trim your quilt so that it is ready for you to bind when you receive it back.
Trim and Machine Stitch to the front or back / $0.25 cents per linear inch
I will stitch your binding to the front or back of your quilt. You choose. When you receive your quilt back it will be ready for you to stitch down.
At this time I do not offer any hand stitching.
What machines do you use?
I am proud to quilt with a Bernina Q24 Quilting Machine on a 13ft professional frame. Binding attached with a Janome Memory Craft 6700P.
Do you do custom quilting?
I do not offer custom quilting at this time.
